Clair Global Integration (CGI) was called on to undertake a significant overhaul of the Ryman’s sound reinforcement system. The project required a great deal of up-front due diligence and testing, sensitivity to the venue’s historic interior, and a deft installation to work around the Ryman’s packed calendar.
Finding a window within which we could perform the installation wasn’t easy because performances at the Ryman are continuous. Our team had just four days to remove the old system and install the new system – a Monday through Thursday, with a show the very next day. We worked with the Ryman engineers, doing everything possible ahead of time while the old system was still online. Starting on Sunday granted us an extra day to maximize the time to do the installation. Things went smoothly, and the new system was up and tuned in time for Friday’s Opry at the Ryman show. Purposefully, it all happened without any upset of the Ryman’s historic interior or sightlines.
