Working on behalf of museum exhibit designer Gallagher and Associates and scenic fabricators Kubik Maltbie, GCI was asked to install a dual 360-degree projection screen for the brand new governmental-backed National Medal of Honor Museum located in Arlington, VA.

The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest medal for valor in combat, first actioned in 1861, and the museum’s interactive exhibits now tell the stories of the Americans who have protected the US during times of conflict. Part of this thought-provoking experience displays the names of Medal of Honor Recipients and the 40 million Americans who have served in the US Armed Forces over the impactful circular screens.

To help create a seamless storyboard dedicated to preserving the bravery of these soldiers, CGI used multiple projectors blended and warped over significant screen curvature. The interior and exterior layers utilized 10 x 4k projectors on the outer ring and a further 7 on the inner, plus 4 x powerful media servers, enveloping the viewer in an immersive technology journey with poignant depth.
